The Kuepers in 2010

At the beginning of the year, Gary and I had the goal of working towards being able to do a triathlon. We didn't actually do a triathlon this year, but we did run two 5K races. I've been happy to have accomplished being able to run this distance.

Kara turned 5 this year. She enjoyed learning piano, taking swimming lessons, and playing soccer in the spring. She also graduated from preschool. This fall, she started all day kindergarten and started taking ballet at the YMCA. Going to kindergarten was a bit of an adjustment. She goes all day and stays for lunch and the school is much bigger than what we were used to! But she has adjusted well and likes school. Kara likes to dance and sing. We went to see the Nutcracker ballet for Christmas and she got to sing "Over the River and Through the Woods" with 4 other kids during church services one weekend at our church for Christmas.

Dwight turned 4 this year. He started preschool this fall and goes 2 mornings a week. He enjoys school and has nice teachers! He also has been taking sports classes at the YMCA and seems to have gotten over his fear of deeper water!! Dwight is quite scholarly. He enjoys trying figure out what letter and words say and tries to write letters. He can spend hours doing puzzle/coloring books. He is also fascinated with crocodiles/alligators.

A big highlight for us this year was being able to go to Japan for a month. We had a wonderful vacation there and we were able to spend lots of time with my family!! We feel very blessed as a family and are looking forward to what is in store for us in 2011!!

Dwight's Birthday!!

Since Kara had a party this year where she was allowed to invite some of her friends, we decided to let Dwight have a party too for his birthday. So 2 days before Thanksgiving, 4 of Dwight's friends came over for a dinosaur party!! We got a dinosaur ice cream cake from Dairy Queen with dinosaur candles. We played pin the skull on the dinosaur skeleton and "dinosaur, dinosaur, dragon" (duck, duck, goose). It was a little choatic in our small home, but lots of fun was had by all. Dwight has some great friends!!
